avuvi.com is named after the Avuvi African village pariah dog found in Central Africa from Ghana to the Congo. Some of them are ownerless dogs who live at the periphery of villages, some of them have very high pitched yodels that warn villagers of strangers approaching, and others stay completely silent so to not alert strangers that there is a village nearby. Sometimes Basenji dogs are described as descending from Avuvi's.
